Insta360 Wave focuses on speech clarity, simple controls, and adaptable recording in a single device. With local storage, flexible pickup patterns, and optional AI tools for transcription and meeting follow-up, it supports everyday communication without adding complexity.

At the core is an 8-microphone array with a pickup range of up to 5 meters. Audio is captured at 48 kHz for detailed speech. Processing tools reduce background noise, cancel echo, adjust gain automatically, and reduce room reverberation so voices sound closer and more natural. Two-way, real-time full-duplex audio supports natural conversation without clipping each other off.

Insta360 Wave can adapt to any situation
Wave adapts to different rooms with five pickup patterns. Omni captures voices all around the device for round-table meetings. Cardioid focuses on the front for one-person calls, podcasts, or streams. Supercardioid narrows the focus further for noisy desks. Figure-8 captures front and rear for two-person interviews. Stereo uses left/right channels for wider recordings when connected by USB as the audio input.

Built-in 32 GB storage turns Wave into a simple recorder. Start recording with a tap, mute instantly, and add markers during a meeting. Storage is rated for up to 1,000 hours of MP3 audio. An AI pre-recording mode is planned to continuously listen in the background and save the last five minutes when you hit record through an over-the-air update.

An AI meeting assistant extends the hardware with cloud features. Transcription runs with cloud processing, with options for speaker voiceprint labeling and a custom glossary so product names or acronyms are recognized consistently. After a meeting, you can review notes and action items, ask follow-up questions in a chat interface, and share summaries quickly using an on-screen QR code. Some features are part of paid plans, and there are minute packages for higher usage. Privacy measures include locked local storage on the device and optional cloud storage with standard security certifications.

The base touch interface handles mic on/off, volume, record/stop, mute-while-recording, and cloud upload. Connectivity includes USB-C, Bluetooth, and a low-profile wireless dongle. A desktop controller app lets you manage Wi-Fi, audio settings, highlights, screenshots, and meeting reminders, with support for common conferencing platforms.

Wave also integrates with Insta360 Link 2 for a paired audio-video solution. Direction-of-arrival detection helps the camera switch focus between speakers during group discussions. A future update will allow multiple Wave units to connect wirelessly to cover larger rooms.
